Taking the Leap – My Why and How, Part 2
So much has happened since I set up LM Virtual Assistant in September 2019.
5 Months! Time flies doesn’t it?
My ultimate goal was to resign from my corporate job and manage the business full time. I had set this goal for December 2019, with hindsight – a little too ambitious! So, I moved the goal posts to April 2020, and I managed to hand in my notice in mid-January. Not bad going, I’d say.
I’d already had some sign ups which was a great start. But as soon as I handed in my notice, the emails and DM’s were coming in almost every day. I’m sure that had something to do with the energy and relief I’d had from my resignation, which gave me so much more confidence to get my business out there, regardless of what people may think about it.
Suddenly, I felt overwhelmed with happiness and so proud that I had done this. I was unhappy with my career and I changed that. I moulded my skills and experiences in to something that suited me, something that made me happy and something which meant I could have it all – Make a living, be there for my family and still use the skills and experience I am good at.
This year is the starting point of something amazing. It’s not all been plain sailing. I’ve put in the hours to make it happen and in the very beginning, I was working full time. I’ve had setbacks and times when I’ve doubted myself, but I’ve kept going with the support of family, friends and my online connections.
I still have a long way to go, it’s not even been 6 months yet – so baby steps every day. The main thing is that I didn’t give up!
My creative side, seems to be making an increasing appearance too and I’m not an expert, but I’m sure I read somewhere that if your mind is clear, your creative thinking is released?
The clients I have are great and the work offers so much variety, that every day is different and that is what I love.
My next project for working on the business as opposed to in it, doing client work is to set up a monthly newsletter for my lovely readers. I will fill it with top tips, how -to-articles, FAQ’s, business news and I might even go all out and create an interactive quiz for a bit of fun! So watch out for those….
Thank you for reading and thank you for your support. I feel truly blessed to be able to write these blogs for you.
